Where do I start?
You could be a person who has been chronically ill for a fairly long time or a person who is reasonably healthy but you know something isn’t right, you may have lost your spark, finding yourself tire easily and your zest for life is beginning to wane, or you may need to overcome fibromyalgia or some other chronic condition.
So what should I look at first?

It is really rare for anyone to be totally, joyfully, vibrantly alive in today’s stressful world. Being constantly stressed out is just too common and one of the main contributors to dis – ease. Eating junk food, highly processed meats ,sugary desserts and even some vegetables can be a problem. This is without even considering that you could be highly allergic or have a serious sensitivity to many foods, especially wheat, peanuts, soy, dairy foods and quite often eggs. Many of these cause stomach and bowel conditions that can make your life very miserable.
Your feet are your foundation and should be taken care of, spend a significant amount of your clothing allowance on footware, good comfortable well fitting shoes and sandals.
Dental, probably the most expensive, mercury amalgam fillings (they like to say they are silver). From this day forward do NOT get anymore of these fillings, they are dangerous. You may think that getting all your old fillings removed at a very great expense is the answer. Not necessarily so! What is now put in your mouth now could be even worse for you. Do not rush this step, it may not be necessary.
Parasites are way too common worldwide no matter how cosmopolitan the area; and try to get a doctor to even discuss this with you without going to a hospital that has a Tropical Disease Dept.
Prescription medications can cause really severe reactions, all too often worse than the conditions being treated. A surprisingly large amount of vitamins and supplements contain items you are either allergic to, or are not needed by your system. If you are taking a lot of mixtures you could be getting way too much of certain vitamins, Vitamin A is in nearly all these preparations and you could easily be overdosed.
Then there is the tap water full of fluoride and in many areas very acidic, GMO foods are banned from most of Europe and South America, but not North America.
Cattle are fed a large amount of corn (98% of corn is GMO in North America), soy and only a little grass or hay. Cattle are not designed to eat this kind of a diet and their meat is even more acidic. This contributes significantly to asthma, arthritis, gout and many other conditions to a greater or lesser degree. Also causes the cattle a lot of pain and discomfort, many cannot even walk.
The fixatives in perfumes are very toxic, and most cleaning supplies and sprays for pests cause many health problems.
Most people are unaware that the fabrics you wear, especially polyester and acrylic contribute to many conditions, CFS, skin rashes and many, many more. Those with flame-retardant finishes are the very worst.
The fabrics and flame retardant finish in the mattress you sleep on, often cause hyperactivity in children, staggering, behavioral disorders and also affect adults in similar ways. Bedrooms are the worst room to have Carpet on floors. They are full of chemicals which eventually stop gassing out only to be replaced by mold and fungi as time progresses. Beds are used for a significant amount of time each day. This is the most important room/s in the house to clean up.
Guess by now you are finding all of this mind boggling, “what can I do about this, it is too much to deal with” you may say. It is a lot, but is life worth living if you are feeling unwell, cranky, miserable even depressed most of the time? It becomes all too easy to become a couch potato, lacking in motivation, spending less and less time playing with your children, or not getting some proper exercise. So, if you have not run screaming from the room by now here are some tips that are not too expensive.
By starting with a few items at a time it only takes about 7 weeks to change a habit. The cells in your body are regenerated completely in 7 years. Imagine . . . you can become a completely new person in 7 years . . . or you can remain the same . . . or slide downhill, the choice is up to you.
Make your own cleaning supplies , this is unbelievably easy and really economical. You will find some truly exceptional cleaners in the Recipe Section
Replace your perfumes with essential oils (you could be allergic to some of these and some should not be worn in the sun). Get unscented deodorant,creams, bath gels, shampoo and cream rinse. If they are naturally lightly scented by natural products, they could be OK. A good rule, if you can’t eat it do not put it on your skin. The toxins will be absorbed into your immune system. Many deodorants, creams, shampoo and cream rinse can be very easily made by you and at much less cost.
Throw out any of those artificial scented sheets you put in your dryer. Get rid of any sprays used to spray your fabrics and especially those room deoderizers that you plug in..I make my own laundry cleaner which do not require using any dryer sheets . Your clothes will be soft and static free without them.
Eliminate junk food, they are very costly, dollarwise and healthwise. This includes the kinds that are sold in so-called health food stores. They are still junk, just a little less junky. No harm in eating a few on an occasional basis.
Genetically Modified Foods (GMO) are really bad for your health. A surprising number of vegetables can be GMO (90% of corn) Hawaiian Mangoes, zucchini and many more. You can find a list online. Whenever possible purchase Organic.
Meat can be purchased at a farmers market or farm where you know how the animals have been raised. About 85% of the population are not suited to a vegetarian diet., so send your guilt packing right here and now. If the animals are raised in a true farm setting not the factory farms of today, where they are contented and happy this contentment and happiness transfers to you and your family. When you eat factory farmed food you are eating misery, dreadful food, unhappy, cramped conditions. You are what you eat. Just think! If no one ate meat some animals would be extinct. Would you be happier knowing your meat came from contented cows and chickens?
Artificial sweeteners cause weight gain. Using organic cane sugar or coconut sugar sparingly is best, not Agave. Honey, works for some people. Stevia and Zyla (the kind made from hardwood trees, NOT CORN are great.
Food testing for sensitivities will greatly improve your life and that of your family, The best book I have seen about testing for food allergies and sensitivities is “The Virgin Diet” by JJ Virgin. It is very useful even if you do not need to lose weight. In some places you can get this book from the library, but it is is really worth purchasing.
Never give up your prescription medications without consulting your doctor. You can make yourself really sick this way. As you start feeling better you may find you no longer need some that you are taking, Most need to be tapered off slowly. Your doctor, will discuss this with you. Some research on your part will also be necessary.
Get a good water filtration system. Whole house is the best but rather costly and seldom can be done in an rental apartment. It you get an under counter water system, they usually come with a fitting that puts a hole in your pipe. Frowned upon by superintendents in apartment buildings. Some stores sell a special fitting for adding a line for the ice cube maker in your fridge. Works really well, just unscrew the line above the shutoff valve, add this fitting and the line to your water filter. It can be a trifle tricky getting the correct fitting. Take a picture under the sink and find out the size of the line your water filter has(consider taking it to the store with you). Lucky you, if your water filter comes with this kind of fitting.
Parasites can cause many symptoms, different depending on what kind. There are some excellent kits on the market for parasite cleansing, colonics is another choice. Having your blood tested with a Darkfield Microscope by a qualified person can be very helpful for many conditions besides parasites.
Of course, ideal if you can go to a qualified health care practitioner, but this article is about getting started at the level you can afford.
